Mobile Deposit

What is Mobile Deposit?

Mobile Deposit allows you to make a deposit directly into your checking or savings account using the HomeTown Bank, N.A. Mobile App on your supported Apple or Android Phone or Apple tablet with camera feature. Deposits are subject to standard HomeTown Bank funds availability. You will submit photos of the front and back of your endorsed check using the secure App. The check images are not stored on your mobile device.

Who is eligible to use the Mobile Deposit service?

HomeTown Bank N.A. mobile banking customers that maintain eligible checking and savings accounts and have accepted the End User Agreement are eligible to use Mobile Deposit.

How does Mobile Deposit work?

Sign in to the HomeTown Bank, N.A. Mobile App and then follow these steps:

  1. Select the deposit function.
  2. Select the account where you want to deposit your check.
  3. Enter the amount of the check.
  4. Take a picture of the front and back of your endorsed check (proper endorsement should include "via mobile deposit" under your signature) following the guidelines on your mobile device.
  5. Submit your deposit. You will receive a confirmation on your mobile device and you may also select to receive an emailed confirmation as well.
  6. You should securely store the original check for 30 days. After that time, you should destroy it as per the End User Agreement.

What are the cut off times for deposits made with Mobile Deposit?

Deposits must be submitted by 3:00pm CST to be considered for current day processing.

When will my Mobile Deposit be available?

For deposits made: Funds are generally available:
Before 3:00pm CST business days On the next day after the deposit of your deposit*
After 3:00pm CST business days On the 2nd business day after the day of your deposit*
Non-business days On the 2nd business day after the day of your deposit*

Business days are Monday through Friday except holidays.

*A hold may be placed on your deposit. If a hold is placed, funds are posted to your account but are not immediately available to cover debits or withdrawals. You will be notified if we decide a hold will be applied.

How will I know if there is a problem with my mobile deposit after I submit it?

We will contact you if we are unable to process your deposit for any reason. If the check you deposit is returned to us for any reason, we'll send a written notice to your primary address of record with us by U.S. Mail.

Are there fees for using Mobile Deposit?

We will charge your primary account you use in Mobile Banking a one time set up fee of $3. There is only one set up fee regardless of the number of accounts tied to your internet banking service. There is no monthly usage or other fees associated with Mobile Deposit.
